Monument to Duc de Richelieu

Odessa is Ukraine's major seaport on the Black Sea, represented by the Monument to Duc de Richelieu - one of the city's most iconic landmarks. This bronze statue honors Armand Emmanuel du Plessis, Duc de Richelieu, who served as the city's governor from 1803 to 1814 and is considered the founding father of Odessa. Standing at the top of the famous Potemkin Stairs, the monument symbolizes Odessa's cosmopolitan heritage and its golden age as the 'Pearl of the Black Sea.'
